The University of South Australia together with Refugee Health Services are working together with consumers on the development of FGM/C specific education for nurses and midwives to facilitate conversations around FGM/C and support the health and wellbeing of women with FGM/C in South Australia.

The project team has just completed a series of interviews with women who have experienced FGM/C to identify their needs and factors that affect their access to sexual health and maternity care.

The findings will inform the development of the education which is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.
