This resource guide provides advice, program plans, resources and activities to support peer educators to deliver FGM/C education to diverse community groups.
This power point presentation has been developed for use by bicultural/bilingual peer educators and facilitators to support the delivery of health education sessions to Arabic and Somali speaking communities who may have experienced or been affected by FGM/C. The Training Manual on Gender and Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C), developed by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), approaches Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) from a gender perspective in order to increase participants’ understanding of FGM/C as a harmful practice and a form of violence against women and girls (VAWG).
